The Learning Corridor Place-making Project - Since 2014

A Crime Hotspot Called the “Mudhole” Becomes a Home for Learning and Butterflies
Visionary Doreen Abubakar, founder of CPEN and a coalition of residents, advocates and others, transformed a former drug market green-space area into a bonafide community gem.
The park sits on New Haven's Farmington Canal Green-way. Now the community boasts of a butterfly garden, farmers markets, bike repair station and a communication kiosk.
